Drove from Diani Beach in Kenya into Tanzania to Dar es Salaam and then took the ferry over to Zanzibar for a week. Zanzibar is almost 100% Muslim so the morning pray calls got some getting used to. Beautiful 18th to 19th century buildings built of coral stone, rich history of trading of spices and slaves. Night markets, outstanding Swahili food, lovely cultural mix of Arab, Persian, Indian and European influences.
